Catherine the founder of Mama Bean has been around plants from a young age working at her family farm and nursery. One of her favorite jobs was working with the tiny transplants in the greenhouse. It wasn't until 2010 that she discovered her passion for seed saving and in 2014 started Mama Bean Seeds. All the seeds are hand saved from the plants that are organically grown on Mama Bean Farm and their origin is always organic.

Catherine has since learned about the importance of biodiversity and keeping these heirloom varieties alive. Heirloom seeds can be saved each season to grow again, unlike GMO seeds, which are sterile. She hopes to inspire others to start growing and saving their favorite varities to pass on to future generations to enjoy. Available at the shop.
